Behold ...

the closing of an era ...

and the beginning of a whole new one.

John 3:16   KJV

For God so loved the world,

that he gave His only begotten Son

[Jesus the Christ],

that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

Isaiah 53:5   KJV

Isaiah 53:5

But He [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

The chart shows 4 pairs of words from Isaiah 53:5, and shows the verse where each word was first recorded in the bible.

         JESUS                                    HUMANS

..................................................................................................

1.     wounded                              transgressions
2.     pulverized                           iniquities, cost

3.     chastisement                     peace

4.     stripes                                   healed

The words on the left show the magnanimous process that JESUS went though to redeem (pay for), the destruction that was caused by humans.

The first two words on the right show how humans resist taking responsibility for their actions. They debate the trespass, and rebuke the sentence.

The last two words on the right reveal the extreme generosity of God, in that God offers not just a pardon, but a path to complete restoration.

Humans are always in flux, either moving towards God or away from God.

When humans move towards God, they enable the blessings enabled by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, but when humans "stride away from" God, they stride away from full restoration.

Isaiah 53:5

Self - Control

Many of the words that we use today,

have had their meanings corrupted.

"Self-Control"

was never meant to be a response to temptation.

It was never meant to describe a pushing away

from something that is feared.

"Self-Control"

is an act of reverence.

It is like carrying a bowl of water through the desert,

trying not to spill a drop of the life-giving essence.

"Self-Control"

is about what you run towards, not what you run from.

Galatians 5:22,23

But the Fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace,

Patience, Kindness, Goodness,

Faithfulness, Gentleness,

SELF-CONTROL:

against such there is no law.

"Self-Control"

is the bowl that holds the Fruit of the Spirit of God.

Bring Me A Donkey

Bring me a donkey

And its mare
Bring me a donkey
With silver hair
Bring me a donkey
Lest I dare
Leave you to govern on your own!

The thief has a 3 step strategy:

1.  Steal the attention of your SPIRIT away from God

 ... in order to

2.  Kill the connection that your SOUL has with God

 ... in order to

3.  Destroy the ability of your BODY to carry the Light of God

... upon the earth.

Crows

The crows will knock each other out of the sky ...

Some will live and some will die ...

Their feathers will fall from lofts on high …

Some will gasp and some will sigh …

Whispers

The whistling winds of Winter

Lay snow upon the ground

In blankets soft and sparkling

That mute and muffle sound

The crystal air is bristling

With frost upon my face

To celebrate the season

And it's cool embrace

But underneath the mantle

The whispers have begun

O’re the fragrance of the petals

That will grace the Summer sun.

For unto us a child is born,

unto us a son is given:

and the government shall be upon His shoulder:

and His Name shall be called

Wonderful,

Counsellor,

The mighty God,

The everlasting Father,

The Prince of Peace.
