COME A LITTLE CLOSER
Paper:
“Come a little closer!”
Said the Paper to the Sun,
“Share Your light and love,
With the hearts of everyone!”
Sun:
I shall not come too close!
For My heat will scorch the earth!
Sin inflames the peril,
Of those fallen from their birth.
Paper:
Every day I tell them,
Not to throw it all away,
But everyday the darkness,
Steals their willingness to pray.
Sun:
If I look upon them,
If I see their hate and sin,
Then they will burn to nothing,
As if they’d never been!
Paper:
So write upon My pages,
I’ll be manna for their souls,
They can read Your Words in Me,
To find our common goals.
Sun:
My fire lives inside You,
My wisdom is Your gem,
They will try to kill You,
If You dare be one of them.
Paper:
Yes! I see the vision,
Of what they will do to Me,
But so too reigns the vision,
Of their eternity.
Sun:
Then “make it so” young Paper,
Of writs and rights be true,
And whomsoever truly believes,
Shall be as fireproof as You.
