POEMS - 2019 - Winter Moon

Column

WINTER MOON

Winter moon,

Setting sun,

Down by the river,

The otters run,

And play,

And dig for shells,

In delta flats,

Of rock and sand,

That merge with ocean swells,

Where wolves and bears,

Scour beaches,

That hug the island's shores,

In search of food,

Under driftwood,

Fallen from mountains and moors,

Where the misty breath,

Of whales,

Who breach and blow into the wind,

Carry their songs,

Into the night,

Up ... Up,

Where life begins again.

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also.
