The Moon and Me
We kind of know each other,
Because we have something in common,
We both reflect the light of another …
I say “hello” as often as I can,
When in the deep quiet of the night,
I am awakened,
By a bright blue light,
That arcs across my pillow,
As the moon stares at me,
Bright and eager,
Through the crescent window,
Waiting to share secrets,
Like a cat with a toy,
Soft and sullen,
We talk,
For as long as the universe will allow,
Because he is on a journey,
Of his own,
And when he is gone,
Set beneath the earth,
I wait for him,
For the celestial heavens to align,
For just the right time,
To meet again.

Celestial Synchronicity
The sun and the moon are in perfect synchronicity. At the height of the harvest season, they double duty the lighting of the earth, as if passing a baton of light between them. When one sets, the other is already poised to rise. In the summer they lengthen the days, and in the winter, they shorten up and whisper while we sleep.
