POEMS - 2017 - Strawberry Moon

STRAWBERRY MOON

The Strawberry Moon lingers a little,

Into the morning dawn,

To savour sweet aromas,

Awakened by the sun.

Dew drops glisten with twice the sparkle,

Upon the berry’s vine,

And a double glaze of sugar,

Perfumes the nectar’s wine.

Dusty pink the Strawberry Moon,

Crests above the land,

From where she sends a gentle kiss,

Caught in the sun’s own hand.

“I’ll be away for just a minute,

Tarry my leaving though,

For double is the wisdom in it,

That helps the fruit to grow.”

Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?
