SECULAR
The word “secular” is used by church people,
To refer to “people of the world”,
As if the church knows nothing of hate, jealousy,
Adultery, abuse, theft, slander or murder.
The word “secular” is also used by atheists,
To recommend a separation of church and state,
As if mere mortals can proclaim to a majestic God,
Just where He can and cannot rest His feet.
Secular is defined as “non-spiritual”,
As if such a state can actually exist,
As if God, the immortal glue of atoms,
Can be torn apart from the fabric of life.
Secular … is a self appeasing word,
A mythical separation,
Where none exists,
Because God and man and nature are all one.
Secular … is an illusion,
A desperate attempt to create,
Lines in the sand,
Because humans love to pat down their fears.
Secular … is not the workplace,
It is not art, music or clothes,
It is not race, religion or gender,
Because there is nowhere to “sit out” from God.
There IS a dividing line however,
Against which we are all on trial,
For there are two types of expression,
The expression of God … and the expression of denial.

Colossians 1:16 (KJV)

That are in heaven, and that are in earth,
Visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones,
Or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
All things were created by him, and for him:
